Uploading my app early since I'm not going to be in the country when the application period opens-- I've got a two-week cruise around New Zealand waiting for me tomorrow! I'm going to be gone over both Christmas and New Years, so I apologise if you comment and don't get a reply until January! ||u;`)'''
Also, I apologise for the art dissonance-- I was planning to shade Ligermon and revamp Lael before I leave, but my schedule got thrown out of whack and I ended up with no time to do so... I'll update the app with the changes when I get back, so hang tight until then! D':
And on another note; the whole part-time job and whatnot with Lael and Ligermon won't come into effect until later after a few events when things have settled down. So ignore it for now, it's just useless trivia for later (I think)! ";v;
- - - - -
Bahaha, so, err... g-guess I'd better explain myself, ne? For the abridged version;
was taking far too damn long to progress and I got tired of waiting, *GalacticGoat
had a fallout with the group and ended up making a new RP group, I found the story and overall concept far more interesting and appealing than TDW's, so... I jumped ship in October and moved over here instead!
I'm not going to let any of my characters go to waste, and whilst I do love TDW, it's just... taking forever to get anywhere at all and there's nothing really keeping me in the group anymore. Yes, not even with the admin change. It's just not fun
((Though, now that I think back, I guess the group itself really wasn't ever all that fun to begin with... the Comic Con thing was alright
, but pageants, fancy balls and other flowery crap? Not my thing at all. It's Digimon for god's sake, not some pet show! >w>))
I'm grateful to have met the people I did, and to have had many fun experiences over there, but it's time to move on.
Not to mention that a lot of my friends from there ditched the group long before I did, so I had no reason to continue hanging around
. I'd like to actually expand
on my character more at an even pace rather than wait forever for plot progression to do so, and I feel that I can have another shot at that over here! So, on with the app! Let's make this group a good
one, ne? (9°∇°)9
I apologise for it being so freakin' long and detailed, but... amghhh, once I start writing about my characters I just don't stop...! I'm so pedantic about details and I want to get it right the first time
so I don't have a repeat of TDW, having missed two openings in a row >w>
.And since I can use this as a sort of reference for Lael's personality and habits for things outside the group, loads of extra info can be a nice thing to have! Also, character depth and all that. :'D

M A I N (his everyday “mask” personality, only dropped when at work):
.: Prideful :.
□ Makes it seem as if he thinks he's above others and believes that others can't do things right unless he does it for them (unless they've proven themselves 'capable').
.: Cynical :.
□ Views the world and everything in it in a 'positively-negative' light, as he calls it. Blunt and with a dark satirical sense of humour to match, as he once said, 'What'll best solve your problem? This "power of friendship" or a bullet between the eyes?'.
.: Promiscuous :.
□ A real womaniser and playboy-type. A bit of a flirt and a tease, always doing things to impress the ladies. Has a tendency to sleep around a fair bit..
.: Sarcastic :.
□ Never a dull moment when he's around, thanks to his satirical sense of humour. Expect him to be the one to break the awkward silence with an intentionally-bad joke.
.: Vengeful :.
□ If someone backstabs him, he'll be sure to return the favour doubly so. Doesn't quite realise how much power he actually has, so naturally, it's a good idea not to get on the receiving end of his fist. Very good at double-crossing people and using their own traps against them.
S E C O N D A R Y (not easily shown, “real” personality):
□ Although he looks shady to a degree, most of the things he says are truthful. He generally avoids lying since he doesn't want to be a bad influence to Eve, although that concept seems to have stuck with him even when she's not around. Never breaks a promise, and always follows through on things.
.: Patient :.
□ Likes to seem like an impatient jerk, but is genuinely willing to wait around for days or weeks if necessary. Quite a good choice for sentry duty, scouting and other similar tasks involving great patience (that is, if he were ever inducted into some sort of militia).
.: Romantic :.
□ Despite lacking the capacity for a solid relationship and always sleeping around, he really is a kindhearted, polite and dedicated romantic. Always treats women respectfully and likes to beat up the ones who don't.
.: Generous :.
□ Doesn't have a sense of material-attachment, and is always gifting things to others (spare change, food, random knick-knacks...). Always gives more than he takes, and always rushes to someone's aid if they're truly in need.
.: Insecure :.
□ Doesn't really trust in himself to make the right decisions, and feels he isn't capable of taking care of Eve. Sometimes this renders him unable to make any decisions at all in the most crucial moments, stuck paralysed with thoughts of the worst outcome. His insecurity is partially caused by an instance of childhood trauma.

□ Always tinkering with machinery. Always. Well-known throughout Terra Firma and Metropolis as the one to ask if you need anything fixed, sometimes even fixing some of the circuitry and electronic systems in both locales and repairing damaged Metal Empire-family Digimon when needed.
□ Likes to curl up with a good story or textbook; usually found reading books on topics like cooking, survival skills and 'how-to' books. As he usually says, 'You never know when a skill might come in handy!'.
□ Likes video games as well, but isn't an avid gamer. He's a big puzzle-game fan though.
□ Music is pretty important to him, and he is often found listening to it while tinkering with machinery.

□ Can easily relate to people who share similar views to his own, but will get along with anyone really. Has a very strong sense of ‘mateship’, favouring loyalty and equality above all.
□ Seems to enjoy beaches and water a lot. Lael likens himself to the ocean though, saying “I guess I'm kinda like the tide. It just comes and goes, all the time”.
□ Always walks around with no shirt, not for fanservice (
…maybe a little), but because of a few reasons-- He used to live in the outback, so his body is attuned to hot climates, he used to do street fighting, and a shirt would 'weigh him down', and he's always tinkering with machinery, so a shirt would just get dirty. Also partially used as a lure to attract the ladies and to keep people's attention~
□ Wants to be a jack-of-all-trades metalsmith someday.
□ Whilst Lael wound up in the Digital World here, he traced Ligermon's signal to a place way over here, the spot that is now their current residence.

□ Lael lives in Ligermon's own house, a small, well-hidden underground “burrow” of sorts. It is quaint, well-furnished, relatively soundproof, and is solid enough to hold its own against earthquakes. The walls are equipped with sensors that emit vibrations at a frequency only noticeable to burrowing Digimon, which assists in redirecting them before they accidentally tunnel through the house.
□ The house itself is situated on Bulletin Board Hill, the halfway point between a Heavenly faction metropolis inhabited by Virus Busters and Metal Empire-family Digimon (called simply “Metropolis”), and a neighbouring Neutral faction town occupied by Wind Guardians-family Digimon (named “Terra Firma”). Both places are on good terms with eachother, and have been under an acknowledged truce for decades.
□ Metropolis is under the Heavenly faction whilst Terra Firma is Neutral, for the curious.
□ It takes an average of ten minutes of brisk walking (and anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes for slow, casual walking) to reach one destination from the other. Of course, living in the middle of the two locales, it takes half the time to reach either of them from Lael's home.

O P E N: Not yet, sorry! I'll make sure to notify y'all when I can RP again though!
S T Y L E S: Paragraph/Script (I'll do whatever you do though, so tell me what style you prefer before we actually start RPing, ne?)
M E A N S: Comment/Note/MSN (I don't mind any option, but Comment RPing works best for me)
F I R S T R E P L Y : Err... I'm notably bad at kickstarting RPs, so I'd rather if you went first. D:
E X T R A N O T E S:
□ I apologise in advance if Lael comes across as an arrogant dickhead; back in TDW, I was afraid of offending people if I depicted him with his “main personality”, so I used his “secondary personality” for RPing instead (which is supposed to not be shown often). This sorta defeated the point-- I created him with this main, arrogant persona for the sole reason of getting better at portraying characters with such a personality. I feel I kinda failed at getting him across as a character in TDW because of this, so this time I'm trying to amp it up and play him out like he should have been. If you don't mind him slightly heckling your characters and being a prideful, cynical bastard for the first few meetings, then great! I don't intend to go absolutely overboard with it though, but if you feel I've made him act a little harshly, then by all means, let me know and I'll tone him down a bit!
□ As for why I'm more comfortable with Comment RPing over Notes/MSN is because of the new dA mobile interface. Comments send like a charm, but I've had countless problems with Notes not sending when they should have, and sometimes even sending multiple times. It's frustrating to use, but I can deal with it if you really can't RP any other way.
□ The last important thing of note is about when I can RP.
Currently, I am in my last year of schooling, so naturally I need to focus most of my time on my schoolwork. I'm not fully used to RPing yet, so that's one factor... I am also notably bad at replying to RPs within a decent timeframe (it usually takes a month or so to complete one RP;
how long do they usually go for anyway?) so I apologise if I take forever and a day to reply. But I guess this is how everyone learns to RP, so no real harm done, ne? ;v;
|| B A C K S T O R Y ||
Lael grew up alongside his twin brother Noah in a remote outback city in Perth, Australia. The city itself was barely on the maps, which is probably why it was such a great place for crooks and hoodlums to lurk, making the city itself dangerous (unless you knew who to avoid). Nonetheless, his family lived in one of the more 'peaceful' districts and he grew up relatively normally. Lael and Noah often escaped their house and explored the streets of the other districts or just sat and observed passers-by, learning how to read people as best as possible. At night-time they would hike down to a park on the city's outskirts to observe the dusty urban sky, pointing out constellations and sharing tales they'd overheard about the outside world. On the whole, they were inseparable.
A few months after Eve was born, Lael's mother was diagnosed with an underlying genetic terminal illness and passed away not long after. Their father started to become aggressive and abusive as a result, and eventually forced the care of Eve onto the young twins. Lael and Noah tried their best every day to keep Eve away from their father's ill-treatment, and one day found help in the form of a generous young man named Sedge. Every so often they would escape and seek him out for help raising Eve, the man wanting nothing in return.
Years later on a cold Winter's day, the twins were in the park after leaving Eve in Sedge's care for the day, and were happily playing with a stray cat. It bolted suddenly and with Noah in hot pursuit, it ran across the road. All it took was a single truck from seemingly nowhere to dye the road red with blood, leaving Lael traumatised and in a state of shock from the tragedy.
Many more years later, Lael was left to look after Eve by himself as his father had passed away, and Sedge had moved elsewhere because of a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity. Now a young adult, Lael took up street fighting as a way of earning some quick cash and to learn how to protect himself so he in turn could protect Eve. Lael was on his way to 'work' as usual, listening to his trusty headphones. After a few minutes of tuning the radio setting through static signals, he managed to pick up a strange broadcast-- some sort of tactical conference, mentioning “Digimon”, “the Heavenly” and “the Original One. Instantly intrigued, he finished work early, homeward bound to look for more information on this thing that had been distracting his thoughts the whole day.
Just as he had returned home however, Lael immediately noticed that something was off (for after all, a door that was locked when you left should not suddenly be busted apart when you return). He rushed inside to find Eve terrified and backed up against a wall by a group of armed small-time street fighters. Lael immediately ran to her aid, and although he fiercely tried to defend her from her attackers, he was not yet used to fighting so many armed enemies all at once. After what turned out to be a curb-stomp battle, the group eventually decided they weren't worth their time and left them be, leaving Lael with fairly severe injuries and Eve frightened and bewildered. Lael ignored his injuries for a moment and asked his sister what exactly happened, to which she replied that they were “here to wreck the punk who trounced their buddy”. Before he could reply back however, the hapless duo were enveloped in a vivid blue light, disappearing from the Real World in an instant.

Kyaamon is the polar opposite of Kuumon-- peppy, curious and overconfident but with a hidden cunning nature, this 'Mon loves to be the center of attention. They are notorious for their thieving tendencies, and it is not uncommon to find groups of Kyaamon attempting to pilfer whole statues and whatnot from other villages. Kyaamon have quite a bit of power in their ears and can lift up things twice their own weight or more with relative ease. Because they do not look as similar to their Rookie form as most-- and due to how rarely people see them Digivolve to begin with-- not many Digimon know what exactly they turn into, with almost all Ligermon staying silent on the matter to preserve their dignity. Lael's Ligermon doesn't like to revert back to this form either and will use more energy than necessary to force himself back to his Fresh form instead, saying that “this form will only ruin all the effort it took to reverse my self-image from a petty thief back to a respectable Digimon”.

Personality-wise, Ligermon are much like a Wizardmon-- calm and serious but with a somewhat lighter, more friendly and relaxed demeanour once you get to know them (though that can take a while, as they are not known to bond easily). However-- and quite unlike a Wizardmon-- they are quite the tricky and opportunistic trash-talkers though. Needless to say, they get highly aggressive in battle and will fight dirty to win if it gets down to the wire. Lael's Ligermon speaks with a heavy Australian accent-- though no-one is sure where he picked it up. He has quite good hearing in this form and can't stand the sound of heavy machineworks, but is fine with Lael tinkering with smaller machines in the evenings. Ligermon often wanders around in Metropolis and does his own thing instead of staying with Lael, although what he actually does when Lael is at work is a mystery in itself. He is very secretive about his daily agenda and often disappears to places unknown for small amounts of time. He seems to know far more than he lets on, but about what?

Pridemon acts just like its’ namesake-- prideful, arrogant and headstrong. They will never back down from a challenge and always pick fights with other Digimon, or even humans if the opportunity arises. As a species, they are not territorial in the least but most smart Digimon will flee the area when they see a Pridemon nearby, as they will not hesitate to attack if they cross paths-- however, Pridemon with a Tamer will (usually) show self-restraint. Due to a detrimental glitch in their programming, they are a very lazy species and will disobey orders whenever they please, no matter how strong their bond is with their Tamer. When not being an uncooperative, destructive, rowdy nuisance, Lael's Pridemon is usually found lazing around the outskirts of Terra Firma or the faraway rocky Digital Outlands. No-one quite knows why he travels such a long distance just to relax, and it is likely to remain a mystery for a long while to come.
